LVL FRAME WAREHOUSE
Located in Ramsgate, Kent, this impressive 30-metre span industrial building marks a significant milestone in UK construction, being the first of its kind to be built entirely from LVL (Laminated Veneer Lumber). Paramount Structural Engineers collaborated closely with the LVL supplier, Stora Enso, to bring this innovative project to life—delivering a warm, natural-feeling factory space for Roe Timber Frame that combines sustainability with structural performance.
This pioneering use of LVL showcases the material’s strength, versatility, and environmental benefits, offering a compelling alternative to traditional steel or concrete frameworks. The project reflects Paramount’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of modern engineering by embracing new materials and construction techniques. Through detailed analysis, precision design, and close coordination with suppliers and clients, we were able to create a structure that not only meets functional requirements but also sets a new benchmark for timber-based industrial buildings in the UK.
