EXETER UNIVERSITY
The original student residence, built in 1966, had long outlived its ability to meet the expectations of modern student living. Outdated in both design and functionality, it was replaced with a high-quality, contemporary development comprising 251 bedrooms, designed to offer comfort, efficiency, and a vibrant living environment for today’s students.
To meet the demands of a tight construction timeline without compromising on quality, Paramount Structural Engineers employed advanced timber frame techniques alongside precision fabrication methods. This modern approach enabled rapid assembly and ensured consistent build standards across the entire development. The use of engineered timber not only contributed to the speed and sustainability of the project but also enhanced the aesthetic and thermal performance of the building.
Paramount’s involvement from early design through to completion ensured that every structural element was optimised for performance, cost-efficiency, and long-term durability. The result is a landmark student accommodation project that reflects the evolving standards of higher education housing—delivered on time, to specification, and with a strong focus on quality and innovation.
